I’ve been away this past week, and it was good to get home yesterday afternoon. I’m sure my neighbors appreciated my lawn finally being cut 🙂 Anyway, I had a lot of reading to do, and it was great to sit outside, enjoying the beautiful weather we are having right now in my area. Today the Church celebrates Pentecost, the moment the Holy Spirit fell upon the first band of Christians.
You can read about their life-changing encounter with the Holy Spirit in the Acts of the Apostles, Chapter 2, verses 1-13. Read this passage over prayerfully. As St. Ignatius would encourage, imagine yourself in the scene, eyes wide open to the people, the sounds, the suddenness of it all. How would you react as the Holy Spirit descended upon you like a flame of fire? Where would the experience of such an encounter with God lead you? Can you see the Holy Spirit’s activity in your life? If you can, ask for more. If you can’t, pray about the reasons why that might be. Certainly some things to think and pray about over the next few days.
Have a blessed week 🙂
