Carpe Diem

walking road

I feel as if I’ve blinked and June has gone by.  I don’t believe I’ve ever been as busy as I am right now, and, although a break is coming, it’s still off in the distance.

Like all things, I’ll survive, and maybe be better for it in the end.  Well, let’s hope 🙂

The other day, I was reminded of the move Dead Poet’s Society, which had Robin Williams remind a group of prep school students of the ancient phrase, carpe diem, seize the day.  He warned them that, in a blink of an eye, their lives will be over.  Make the most of each day, he said.

We all lead very busy lives, and are all trying to juggle a lot of balls on a daily basis.  I think Robin Williams’ character had it right, though.

No matter how crazy our lives might seem, no matter how busy we are, we should do our best to improve ourselves and the world around us each day.  Just take five minutes and think about it.  What can you do to seize the day, and make your life a bit more extraordinary than it is at this moment?

I'm passionate about helping people realize that God wants to make something new of them and bring about a permanent transformation in their lives: body, mind, and spirit.
