It looks like Maryland will luck out and not get hit too badly by the big freeze that’s gripping the country. Just some freezing rain and a little snow later tonight. I’m looking forward to spring 🙂
But before the warm weather comes, I’m going to be leading my first Making All Things New Retreat at the end of January, and I have a lot to do to make it a powerful experience for everyone coming.
The retreat will include talks on principles of Ignatian Spirituality, but there will also be people presenting on nutrition, healthy fasting, and ways to break free from emotional eating. Did I mention cooking demonstrations and a session with a personal trainer? I’ll be writing about the retreat in the weeks to come, so that you’ll feel like you’re a part of it, no matter where you live. If, however, you’re not too far from Maryland, think about joining us. Just click the link above and sign up.
This retreat will be a bit of a test run for another to be held next fall. That one will be part of my doctoral project, and if it goes well, it will help fulfill a big part of the many degree requirements. I can’t wait!
On a side note, at the end of each year, WordPress, my platform provider, shares some data with me from the previous year. This site got over 20,000 hits last year, and visitors hailed from 80 different countries. Although the hits were down from the previous year, 2012’s visitors came from 32 different countries. Let’s chalk it up to the Pope Francis effect 🙂
