Advent Conspiracy

Today is the first Sunday in Advent, a time of waiting and longing for our remembrance of Jesus’ birth at Christmas.

Traditionally, Advent wreaths have four candles, one lit each week as we get closer to Christmas.  The four candles represent hope, peace, joy and love.

Last year at this time, I wrote about an organization called Advent Conspiracy.  The goal of this group is to remind us that these days leading up to Christmas aren’t supposed to be about stress, exhaustion, and spending money we don’t have on things that people really don’t need.  That’s what the world tells us.

But people of faith are called to reflect on the singular event of Emmanuel, God with us.  That’s the reason for the Season.  Please check out their website and get out of the rat race.  Focus and spend some time in prayer.  Get yourself ready for the true joy that comes with Christmas.

I'm passionate about helping people realize that God wants to make something new of them and bring about a permanent transformation in their lives: body, mind, and spirit.
