Building Dreams

I met with an old friend for several hours last night about a project I’m thinking about doing.  Actually, I’ve been talking to several friends about it over the last few weeks, and things are starting to come together.  It’s exciting.

When something starts to take shape in our lives, when we begin to see the potential of a dream becoming a reality, it’s critical to bring in wise counsel who will be honest and objective.  Can I really do this?  Is this where my gifts and talents lie?  Is this what God wants me to do?  What hurdles will I have to overcome to be successful? These are just a few of the many thoughts that have been floating around in my mind recently.  After getting a lot of positive and encouraging feedback, I’m ready to take things to the next level.  I have a lot of work to do, and a lot to pray about.

So, just exactly am I talking about?  I’ll let you know when the time is right.  You could say that I’m building up a little suspense 🙂

More than anything, I’m trying to be open to where I think God is leading me.  He put the dream in my heart, and now I have to figure out how I might be able to accomplish that dream.  In our present environment, good planning is essential.  As I mentioned above, wise counsel is critical.  Prayer is absolutely necessary.

Prayer, counsel, planning.  No matter where you are in your life, and whatever big decisions you might have to  make in the near future, taking these three steps will almost ensure success.  Why not give it a try?  It’s time to start building our dreams again.  Step onto that bridge that will take you from where you are to where you want to be.
