Time Flies

The other day, I was talking to my mom about the rhythm of life, and how quickly time seems to go by.  This is especially true as we get older.  When I was in high school, our teachers seemed to be so old.

At dinner with some old friends when I was home in L.A. several weeks ago, we realized that those people we thought were so ancient were about our age now. Ouch…

Life is what you make of it, and I know a lot of very active senior citizens.  I also know a lot of young people who are couch potatoes.  Abraham Lincoln once said,

And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count, it’s the life in your years.

No matter what our age, this quote can have great meaning for us, and begs to ask several questions:

  • Am I living my life to the fullest?
  • Do I live my life for myself, or for others?
  • If someone were to describe my best character trait, what would the say?
  • If someone were to talk about my biggest area of improvement, what would they say?
  • Does God play a role in my life?
  • What do I want to accomplish in the next twelve months?

I’m sure you can add quite a few questions to the list above.  I hope these, along with ones that you come up with, give you something to think about this weekend.

Our lives pass quickly.  If you need to make plans, or changes, or make amends, why put it off?

I'm passionate about helping people realize that God wants to make something new of them and bring about a permanent transformation in their lives: body, mind, and spirit.

That’s a great quote Paul. So many people sit around and wait for big things to happen to them, but the people that have big things happening in their lives generally all make them happen on their own.

People don’t realize how much control they have on their lives and where they end up — and with such an attitude of fear and defensiveness in our culture and media you can’t blame them. But I think the first step to doing something big with your life is realizing that you have that power and you are in control.
