With all the winter weather we’ve been having lately, I think everyone’s been asking, will spring ever get here? My mom in California is asking. My friend in Utah is asking. My friend in Mississippi is asking. My dog, if she could talk, is asking.
March 20th is the date. Less than eight weeks. It couldn’t come any sooner. The thing is, those of us who live in Maryland know that February tends to bring the most snow to our area. Ugh.
Although there are no visible signs of spring around, there’s hope. Just about every day, I’m getting at least one nursery catalog. Two of my favorites, White Flower Farm and Klehm’s Song Sparrow came in this week.
So, why write about it? One simple word: Inspiration. That’s why the wise nurseries send out catalogues around this time. Their mailings remind us that we aren’t stuck in winter forever. Spring will come, and it will be replaced by summer, which will give way to fall, and…
If you feel like your life has been a little stuck lately, use the image of spring as an encouragement to start preparing for a fresh start.
Is there some pruning that needs to be done in order for new growth to occur?
Maybe some amendments (diet changes/exercise) need to be added for you to achieve your potential.
Are you feeling like you need to be transplanted to a new job, a new city, a new perspective/attitude?
In less than eight weeks, what appears to be dead will show signs of new life. Bulbs, unseen underground, will begin to peek through the soil. The long winter hibernation will be over.
Start making plans. Let the Inspiration begin.
