Into The Light

I hope you had the chance to follow some of the rescue efforts at San Jose Mine in Copiano, Chile that are taking place today. After 69 days underground, miner after miner was hoisted up nearly 2,000 feet of rock and into the sunlight, fresh air, and the waiting arms of loved ones and rescue workers.

These thirty-three men are being rescued from the longest underground entrapment in history. It is nothing short of a miracle. Over the weeks ahead, we’ll learn their tale of survival. What sustained them?

From initial reports, their leaders, their faith in God, and their positive and optimistic attitude is what did it. I can’t think of a scarier situation, and the fact that they all survived in such remarkably good spirits and health is a testament to who they are deep inside.  If there is ever an example of overcoming adversity, this is it. I can’t wait to hear their stories 🙂

As I’ve been writing on this blog since March, having faith, keeping a positive attitude, and being optimistic about your future can keep you going through just about anything.  I hope we can all remember this day the next time we think we have it bad.

I am the Light of the world.  Whoever follows me with not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. (John 8:12)

I'm passionate about helping people realize that God wants to make something new of them and bring about a permanent transformation in their lives: body, mind, and spirit.
