I took off a little early today, and thought it wise to try and make a stop at the grocery store before all heck broke loose.
It looked like I missed the mark by about an hour. The isles were crowded, the check-out lines were long. I didn’t see too many smiling faces as I moved through the store.
Holidays like Thanksgiving are meant to bring us happiness and joy. Gathering with friends and family, sharing a meal, enjoying each other’s company, giving thanks to God for all the blessings He has bestowed on us this past year. And not just us, but our country as well. When you really stop and think about it, even those in the worst of situations are blessed. We are alive. We may not have everything we want or need, but we can still experience joy.
As we make our final preparations for tomorrow, remember to work on finding some joy. And if you’re blessed to be joy-filled, by all means share it with someone who just might need a smile, a joke, a hug, a listening ear. Joy is meant to be shared, don’t you think?
