A Milestone

I was really busy all day yesterday, and didn’t have the chance to check my blog until I got home around 10:30 pm.  Sometime during the day, making all things new had its 100,000th hit.  Now, in the grand scheme of things, my little blog is a blip on the screen. But to me, this is an amazing fact, given that I really don’t know what I’m doing, and I’ve only been at it since mid March 🙂

Yesterday, I had the chance to talk with my brother Rick, and I was telling him that WordPress, the platform I use for this blog, has a great statistics page that gives me some insight (when I have time) to see how people get to my blog, and where they go when they leave.   At one point over the summer, there were all these people finding their way to me through a website in Poland.  Amazing.

Over the next three weeks (Nov. 1 is my goal), I plan to make some pretty important changes.  I’m striving for consistency, and I’ve realized that because of my work schedule, I can’t always deliver without proper planning.  So, planning is the name of the game for the next couple of weeks.

On Tuesday of next week, I will be helping bring diabetes awareness to our faith leaders in my county. The goal is to get a team of people together and form an Action Committee of the Partnership for a Healthy Carroll County.  Through the efforts of this group, diabetes awareness will be brought to a whole new level, with the added twist of working through the faith communities.  Please remember this effort in your prayers next week.

I mentioned earlier that I’ve only been doing this blog since March, which was only seven months ago. However, within this brief period of time, two of my siblings, several friends, and many acquaintances have been diagnosed with Type II diabetes.  Without a doubt, you probably know at least one person who was diagnosed with this illness in the last seven months.  More than likely, it was more than one.

Of course, a lot of you have told me you come to making all things new for inspiration rather than info about diabetes or vegetarian cooking.  Everyone is welcome 🙂

I really appreciate all the feedback people have given me.  I hope the next seven months will find you coming back more and more.  I’ll be working hard to keep the content simple, informative, readable, and most of all, enjoyable.

Have a great weekend.
