Put A Smile On Your Face

Yesterday, I was reading a daily meditation about joy.  The meditation started with this Scripture passage,

“Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy.” (1 Peter 1:8)

The little reflection spoke about how we have to make a conscious effort to keep our joy.Without that conscious effort, it’s so easy to fall into negativity and discouragement.  This is so true for many people right now.  I heard some statistics yesterday that were pretty shocking.  Something like 60% of Americans and up to 80% percent of people in some European countries think their best days are behind them, not only personally, but also for their country.  Wow!  Maybe that’s why I stopped listening to talk radio 🙂

Friends, despite whatever it is that we may be dealing with, there is always some cause for joy in our lives, even if it’s just a whisper.

So today, don’t be grumpy and upset.  Put a smile on your face and be happy.  As I remind myself every day, I’m grateful to be alive and able to see another sunrise.  How lucky I am to have another chance to get things right.  If you’re reading this, you have that same chance.  Take advantage of it.
