Living For God

I’ve been doing a lot of reading lately, looking for ideas to help a friend get through some tough times.  He’s not alone.  There are lots and lots of people dealing with life issues.  Some are able to deal with it on their own, and others need some guidance and help.

In reality, we all need help.  Whenever we try and go it alone, self-assured and prideful, we will end up taking a tumble some time or other.  My suggestion is that we make a change in how we approach our lives.  We need to stop living just for ourselves.  We need to stop living just for others.

We need to start living for God.  If we can make this shift, our lives will fall into an incredible rhythm.  We will stop sweating the small stuff.  Angry, rude co-workers will no longer send us into a tailspin.  We might just find that life has gotten a whole lot better, and the things that used to bother us just roll off our backs.

Living for God also means living in the Light.  No more double lives, masks, and other things/people that keep us from living authentically.  We all have things we’d rather keep in the darkness, but you’ll have a hard time finding God there.

As we look towards the spring, maybe we could all do a little internal house cleaning.  What does living authentically mean to you?  How about living in the Light?  Are you living for God, or rather the gods that you’ve created?

As you go through this early spring cleaning, ask God for help.  He’ll show you the areas of your life that need work.  If you want His advice, you have to let Him in. He’s waiting to hear from you.
