What a Week

Wow, I'm really glad its Friday.  It has been a whopper of a week, and I'm glad to be able to relax a bit.

Earlier this evening, I was laughing with a good friend about the fact that I keep holding on to unviewed Netflix dvds for so long that I'm having to return them unseen so I won't get charged.   I'm hoping things slow down in the not too distant future.  In the meantime, I guess this is what my life will be like until the end of the year. 

Anyway, I've gotten a ton accomplished.  I purchased my house right before Christmas ten years ago.  Wow, did those years fly by. As you might guess, there were some things that needed to be done, and I had been putting them off for a whole host of reasons.

Beginning last month, I started to freshen things up with a new coat of paint on the first floor.  Next, some important repairs needed to be done, and I couldn't put them off any longer.  So this week, I had carpenters, plumbers and electricians here doing what they needed to do.  Expensive, but necessary.  Ah, the joys of home ownership.

Needless to say, when the last person pulled out Wednesday afternoon, I breathed a sigh of relief.  I had my house back, better than ever.

Isn't it funny how we all seem to put things off that drive us crazy?  When we finally get things back in order, we kick ourselves for waiting so long.  I still have a lot to do to get things to where they need to be, but this has been a wonderful week of accomplishment.  I'm looking to build on it from now until New Year's.

So, do you have any projects that you've been putting off?  Just like me, maybe now's the time to get things done, so you can start the New Year right.  Something to think about over the weekend.
