A Sign Of Things To Come

snowdrop

After what seems like forever, the snow is almost gone from my backyard.  Beginning yesterday, I started my annual clean-up process, and I continued it this afternoon.  Since we had such a crazy winter, it's going to take me some time to get it all done.

Just as I was finishing up for today, I noticed that my little patch of snowdrops had begun their annual bloom.  If you have to know, the correct name for these little gems is Galanthus Ikariae, and they were originally planted long ago by the former owners of my house.

I've added to the original bulbs over the years, but they self propagate, so there's plenty.  Because some are still covered by a layer of snow, I'm guessing I'll be in for a long blooming season this year.

Many other bulbs will follow these in their blooming.  Right about now, there's a lot going on just under the ground's surface.  Life is slowly coming around again, and to think, all it took was a few sunny and warm days.

I guess the image is a lot like us.  There's usually a lot going on in our lives, much of it internal.  We can't see it, but we know it's there.  Not only in our lives, but those around us.  Happiness and sadness, joy and hurt, hope and despair.  The list goes on and on.

Sometimes, we lose sight of the fact that we sometimes misjudge a person, because we can only see what's happening on the outside.  Without asking, how can we really know how they are doing?  How can we help if we don't take the time to talk?

Sure, some people won't want to say, won't want to talk, and that's their choice.  If that's the case, we can pray.  That's right.  We can always pray.
